Do Not Buy LG Compressor failed 3 times. 3rd time they refused to fix unless I paid for all the parts myself despite it failing and being replaced twice prior. No lemon law here. Also have water leaking from the ice maker when you press ice button. Presidential support was rude hung up on me and did nothing. Do Not Buy LG

We bought this refrigerator about 5 years ago. Its worked fine until a month ago. It stopped cooling. The compressor failed and had to be replaced which is an expensive repair. It was still under warranty parts and labor. We had it repaired and submitted invoice to LG for reimbursement. We paid over $1500 but LG only reimbursed us $630less than 50. I would not recommend this refrigerator because compressors fail prematurely and LG does not honor their warranty.

Great Fridge within warranty

I purchased this fridge in Feb 2017. The first repair was in Oct 2020 3.5 yrs later. Luckily I purchased a 5-year extended warranty which covered the repair and food spoilage. Fast forward Q4 2023 the fridge started leaking when using the ice maker or water dispenser from inside the fridge under the deli compartment. I ignored the issue because I knew the fridge was out of warranty and just used less ice and since I hardly ever used the water dispenser having a separate water cooler it was ok for the time being. Months later the fridge stopped cooling the night after +$300 grocery shopping. I called the vendor Best Buy where I purchased and because it was out of warranty they referred me to LG. I contacted LG and though the compressor was within the 10yr warranty I still had to pay a ~$500 fee to get a repairman out fix the fridge. They replaced the compressor and dryer filter. I hope to get another 3-4yrs out of this fridge before replacing the entire fridge. LG seems to be a great manufacture most of our major appliances are with them Fridge Washer Dryer I do wish they had a better warranty policy considering its so common. At least honor the food spoilage.

Horrible. Weve had the LG technician here 5 times. They never invoiced us properly. The technician removed parts and left a mess. The refrigerator had stopped entirely but now the freezer wont get above 30 degrees and the wifi connectivity is broken.

Great Except Continuous Loud Hum

Im giving this unit a 3 for only one reason. It makes an almost continuous loud high pitched noise from the back. I can hear it in other rooms. Of course when reporting noise like this LG isnt going to do too much because frigs make all kinds of noise. Id be happy if someone came out if only to hear it. Breaks Down - Buy at your own RISK

Nice looking refrigerator but BEWARE that it WILL break down for different reasons. Within one year of purchase the water like connector broke behind the fridge and we had water leaking down to our basement. Then the systems condenser broke several years later and LG charged us $600 to fix it. They were not interested in reimbursing us for any of the food lost and the escalation representative on the phone basically hung up on me. Terrible customer service.

Good looking but mechanically unreliable

We bought this good looking relative expensive fridge in 2017. Double doors were great for us however the fridge is hard to clean. It has many plastic parts where liquid can be trapped. Some parts are difficult to take apart for cleaning. After only 4 years in use 2021 the ice maker had to be replaced. After 5 years in use 2022 the compressor had to be replaced. In 2023 the evaporator coil had to be replaced. For several weeks during the summer we were without a fridge in our kitchen. At this price tag the manufacturers cannot manufacture reliable appliances with gadgets like icemakers no defrosting etc. They add useless features e.g. WiFi connection instead of focusing on manufacturing appliances that last. Maybe this is the new trend: Fridges last only 5 years We are replacing this fridge now. We will never buy an LG fridge again although they design very good-looking fridges.

I thought it would last longer.

Fridge was purchased in April 2019 but was not delivered until June 2019 when we were ready for it to be installed. Its only been 4 years and our fridge and freezer just stopped cooling resulting in costly expenses with groceries that were purchased the night before it went out. The compressor was replaced which got the freezer working again but the fridge is still not cooling. It was determined that there was a minute leak in the evaporator after a few days and that ended up being replaced as well. 6 visits later after adjusting the pressures replacing filters coil maintenance control board upgrades the fridge is still not cooling staying around 68 degrees. Everything else is confirmed to be working and my smart app isnt detecting anything wrong with the fridge. The techs commented that the issue we have is a very rare issue. Weve invested so much time and money into this that we probably would have been better off just replacing the fridge completely. I didnt think the fridge would go out like that only after 4 years.

Great Warranty Service

I purchased this refrigerator in 2018 and I have been satisfied for the most part. The pros are the door in door which is very convenient the cons are the heavy left door which holds the ice-maker mechanism and the difficulty with opening the wide drawer inside the refrigerator in which both doors must be opened. My main issue was the compressor failed after the warranty for labor had expired five years however LG was gracious in offering to replace the compressor part still under warranty and also provide the labor at no cost to me. I now have a fully working refrigerator that appears to be as good as new. Thank you LG

I paid a lot of money for this unit and now after 6.5 years it stopped working. I see there is a class action lawsuit but that is only if I have had the unit 5 years or less so I dont even qualify. Dealing with LG was a nightmare their fancy diagnostic thingy told me nothing and I had to register with them 3 times to get this app and that app and it took great effort to get actual people on the phone who were of zero help. Terrible product that I kept clean vacuumed behind and underneath and took great care to do everything right So unhappy I paid all this money and now I have to buy a new fridge because the cost to repair is almost as much as a new fridge. I feel totally ripped off.

Compressor died after 3 years. Panel controlling ice and resetting the filters stopped working. All repaired now but I have never had a refrigerator with any issues until this one.

Nice Features Reliability So So

This is a cabinet depth French door refrigerator. The features are excellent with ice and water through the door and a milk and beverage door. The refrigerator holds the temperature well and the interior lighting is excellent. The unit holds more than would be expected for its size and food items are easily accessible. It is attractive unit. The ice maker works well but the storage is small and we frequently run out of ice during the summer. This is ice for drinks for 2 people not entertaining. My previous LG had square or rectangular shaped ice cubes. They were much better in drinks than the crescent shaped cubes in this model. The performance of the ice maker is adequate and expected given the in-door ice maker. The space saved by the in-door unit is an advantage. This refrigerator has had a number of reliability issues. The compressor failed at about 3 years. It was replaced under warranty but we would have lost a lot of food if we didnt have a second refrigerator. The wi-fi board failed and the paddle on the door that activates the switch that dispenses water and ice broke and had to be replaced. These were not warranty items.
